Y'all, I just had to share this song with the world!
God loves a lullaby
In a mothers tears in the dead of night
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes.
God loves the drunkards cry,
The soldiers plea not to let him die
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes.
We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah.
The woman holding on for life,
The dying man giving up the fight
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes
The tears of shame for what's been done,
The silence when the words won't come

Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes.
We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah
Better than a church bell ringing,
Better than a choir singing out, singing out.
We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah
Better than a church bell ringing
better than a choir singin' loud
singin' loud
Repeat Chorus
~
Isn't this just the sweetest song ever? The first time I heard it on KLOVE, I had to pull over I was crying so hard. It makes me think about when I cry out to Jesus with all my problems and concerns, that He sees it as a love song. Just like how my Daddy always loved me, no matter what, even when I made the most obvious mistakes, God is the same way. It's not about the rituals of *church*, it's about my relationship with Him. How cool is it that we have a Savior who loves us for WHO we are and not WHAT we are, with our mistakes, flaws, and shortcomings?
