Holiday Reflections

Woke up *late* again this morning....going back to the "Real World" tomorrow is going to stink! I really think I could get use to this stay-at-home thing....or at least another week of this!

This year, the holidays were MUCH different than they've been in the past. First off, we had the most beautiful live tree (beautiful b/c it came from Alleghany County!) with colored lights. It was so much love that it's still up and I never want to take it down!! We did a hodgepodge of Hallmark and other random ornaments that each told there own story (even the fiber optic fairies -- they were purchased to hang on the teester of my bed in the apartment).

After a slew of holiday parties (and missing the office party & Christmas program at church thanks to the evil vicious stomach flu) it was time for family mayhem. Started off with the insanity known as F***ell Christmas (which is so much fun, it has its own happy song); then a trip to Mom's to celebrate with the Grandpeeps and Uncle R and family -- then to Sister L's to celebrate with Daddy's family; then back to Chat. Co to celebrate with Hubby K's mom's family....then back to Chat Co. to do Christmas w/ Hubby K's parents and G'ma...then back to my mom's for Christmas with the "close" family....then Day after Christmas shopping; trip to The Chubby Trout; back here for New Year's Eve B'ball game (GO STATE) and annual party with friends; then another Christmas party with a rouge group of Hubby K's dad's family; and now...Laundry and Clean up. *shew*, I'm tired from just thinking about how crazy it was! But it was great fun.

Hubby K got me a 1st edition 4-H gnome. He's promised me one since we first started dating; and thanks to eBay we have it without selling our firstborn or any other strange favors. And...I got a girly prepped out fishing pole! Hot pink rod with a reel that flashes pink and green lights! Can't wait to show up the members of Sigma Chi Pi (Surf City Pier) with Daddy RP and Hubby K and catch bigger and better fish thanks to the power of the pink!

Tomorrow is back to work....looking forward to MLK weekend and going to the mountains to see Grandpeeps. We didn't make it up there over the holidays (in large part because of gathering #1 at Mom's).

It's been fun having almost 2 weeks with Hubby K. He's probably the only person in the world I could spend this much time with and not be absolutely batty... if I had a magic wand, this Holiday would never end!!

Bad news -- too much goodness has the scales up 5 lbs....time to get serious again and back to WW on Thursday!
